Recipe

Scripture Cake

by Ruth O'Neil

A story about this recipe appears on a Treasure Hunt page, if you would like to read it.

½ cup Judges 5:25                  ¾ cup Judges 4:19

½ cup Jeremiah 6:20               ¼ cup Exodus 16:31

2 Jeremiah 17:11                    ½ cup 1 Samuel 30:12

2 cups 1 Kings 4:22                ½ cup Numbers 17:8

½ teaspoon Amos 4:5             1 teaspoon 2 Chronicles 9:9

You can find what these ingredients are by looking up the verses in your Bible. (A King James version works best.) If you have trouble, you can find the ingredients at the bottom of this page.

Directions:

1. Get help and permission from a parent to bake the cake.

2. Heat oven 350 degrees.

3. Grease and flour 9x9 inch pan.

4. In medium bowl beat together butter brown sugar and eggs until light.

5. Add flour, soda, honey and milk.  Beat till smooth.

6. In medium bowl toss together raisins, almonds and spices.

7. Fold into cake batter and pour into pan.

8. Bake until center springs back when gently touched, about 45-50 minutes.
