Hey, Kids!
Some of the greatest treasures we will ever find are buried in the pages of the Bible. Here is a fun activity to help you in your search for that buried treasure.

Easter Egg Squishies
CRAFT
by Sheila Seifert
Materials for Two Squishies:
1 sheet (8 1/2" x 11") of Transparency Film (used to make overheads)
1 sheet of scrap paper
3-4 different colors of washable glitter glue
1 permanent marker
Scissor, newspapers, soap, and water
Instructions for Two Squishies:
1. Cut the sheet of transparency film into four equal rectangles. Each rectangle should be 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".
2. Place one of the transparency film rectangles over the oval below. With a permanent marker, trace the oval in the middle of the rectangle. Repeat with one other rectangle.
3. Put newspapers on the area where you will work. Place one sheet of paper over the top of the newspapers. Place one rectangle with an oval drawn in its center on top of the sheet of paper.
4. Use your imagination and design an Easter egg with glitter glue inside the oval on the transparency film.
5. When the design is complete, set a second rectangle on top of your Easter egg design. Repeat steps 3-5 for your second oval.
6. Let both Easter eggs set for three hours.
7. After three hours, you will notice that bubbles have formed in your egg. Gently use your fingers to push bubbles to the edge of your design. As you push, your design will begin to change. Colors will begin mixing together. Some of the glitter glue will go beyond your oval.
8. Once you've been able to remove the larger bubbles, hold your design gently while you cut out the oval from the inside of the line you drew with a permanent marker. Some glitter glue will ooze out of your egg. Once you have cut out the oval, place it on the sheet of paper and wash your hands with soap and water.
9. When your hands are dry, place your sheet of paper with your eggs on it in a warm, dry place. Wait three days.
10. After three days, the glue around the edges will have hardened. If you place the egg on a table, you can gently run your index finger up and down the center of the eggs to make the glitter move and mix into even more beautiful designs. Each day that goes by, more glue will harden around the edge. The center will remain pliable and can be squished with an index finger.

Let's Talk About It:
1. We were made in God's design, but through sin, we were no longer in a form that God could accept into heaven (Easter egg design beneath plastic). God made you.
2. On the cross, Jesus was pierced by nails and a spear (when the design sets for three hours, holes appear). Christ was pierced for your sins.
3. Jesus died and was laid to rest in a tomb for three days (squish some of the bubbles to the side, cut the film in the form of the original oval, and let set for three days). The situation looked hopeless.
4. On the third day, Jesus rose from the dead and sealed all of his followers in the grace and truth of his resurrection (after three days, the seal formed around the egg will keep the glitter glue safe from destruction-drying and dripping out of the egg). As a Christian, you are sealed in Christ.
5. Jesus touches us through his Holy Spirit to make us more like him every day (the more the center of an egg is squished with an index finger, the prettier the design becomes). As a Christian, you grow in beauty as long as you remain pliable beneath God's touch.
